Tikvah Health and Wellness expands in Charleston County

Tikvah Health and Wellness is establishing operations in Charleston County, Republican Gov. Henry McMaster announced Wednesday.

The company, which allows self-insured employers to integrate natural and functional medicine into health care plans, is making an investment that will create 13 new jobs over the course of the next few years.

“Tikvah Health and Wellness’ investment in Charleston County is a strong reflection of South Carolina’s reputation as an exceptional place to do business,” McMaster said in a press release. “We look forward to the company’s continued success as part of our innovative business community.”

The company works to connect employees to vetted health practitioners, while providing technology-driven tools to support healing. The company’s new office space will be located in Mount Pleasant and will allow for the expansion of its tech platform and innovation initiatives.

Tikvah Health and Wellness CEO David Thedinga said the new location will foster new growth for the company.

“Our launch in Charleston County positions us to accelerate education and expand access to functional and integrative medicine across the region,” Thedinga said. “This is about improving outcomes, reducing costs and delivering a model of care that restores hope in health for employers and employees alike.”

Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III said the investment shows the business-friendly atmosphere South Carolina leadership has worked to create.

“Tikvah Health and Wellness’ new operation underscores the cutting-edge business environment we have cultivated in Charleston County and throughout South Carolina,” Lightsey said. “We are proud to welcome Tikvah to the Lowcountry and congratulate the company on this announcement.”

Charleston County Councilmember Robert L. Wehrman congratulated Tikvah Health and Wellness on the company’s new chapter.

“We are honored to be the chosen home for a company that is bringing a fresh perspective to healthcare, blending authentic care with pragmatic solutions,” Wehrman said.
