Democrats have consolidated support for former state Transportation Secretary Shawn Wilson for Governor.
Most noticeably absent from the debate was the race’s early front-runner.

A crowded field is vying to replace Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards, who is unable to seek reelection because of consecutive term limits.
So far, the candidates have been relatively civil. Whether that remains the case has yet to be seen.

Democrats have yet to identify a successor in the Governor’s mansion.
Richard Nelson, 36, is the youngest candidate so far.
