House Speaker Jason White said the current funding formula, called the Mississippi Adequate Education Program, is ‘broken and flawed.’
The Senate proposal could require local communities to pay a slightly larger percentage of overall school funding.
‘It bothers me that we have children out there that do not get a good education in this state. It should make you mad, too.’
