She’ll serve in a super-minority along just six other Democrats.
Voting was open over the weekend in just 34 of the state’s 159 counties.
The same number of voters participated as in 2018, despite another 500,000 registered voters.
Most polls show majority support for the Republican, but O’Rourke has an outside shot of victory.
In-person early voting remains the most popular means of casting a ballot in North Carolina.
