Mississippi GOP Gov. Tate Reeves will face Democrat Brandon Presley in the November election

Voters will also select nominees for 60 contested state legislative races and two regional seats for the state’s utility regulator.
‘I understand where working people are and Tate Reeves doesn’t have a clue.’
Gov. Tate Reeves also faces two challengers in the Aug. 8 Republican Primary, neither of whom has held public office.
Presley is in his fourth term as the state’s northern district public service commissioner.
‘After talking with my family and supporters, and after much prayer and soul searching, I have decided not to run for Governor.’
Dr. John Witcher was suspended in 2010 after a regulatory commission found he was ‘an immediate threat to the public by reason of alcohol or other substance abuse.’
