The race could easily end in a two-week runoff sprint on June 25. Candidates have to get a majority of votes to win Tuesday’s Primary outright.
U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace is fighting a monied opposition campaign backed by former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who she voted to oust.
Mace will need majority support in the June Primary to avoid a runoff election 2 weeks later.
‘We spend 99% of our money protecting incumbents and adding more mainstream conservatives to the House, but this was a unique situation.’
The criticism was largely taken out of context, but highlights the importance of the immigration issue to conservative voters.
