First Lady of the United States Jill Biden will visit North Carolina and Tennessee on Friday in official events open to the press, and at a private campaign event.
Biden will begin her swing in Charlotte, arriving at Charlotte Douglas International Airport at 1:30 p.m. From there, FLOTUS will head to the Atrium Health Levine Cancer Center in Charlotte as part of the Biden Cancer Moonshot.
Biden’s staff said she will highlight the Joe Biden administration’s efforts to expand access to patient navigation services for those facing cancer and address the burden such a devastating diagnosis wreaks on individual finances. That event is open to press.
Later, Jill Biden will land at Nashville International Airport at 3:30 p.m. for a brief press event before heading to Franklin, Tennessee, for a late afternoon, closed-door campaign event.
The visits will come after the First Lady traveled to Atlanta Wednesday, where she touted women’s health research. In November, the President and First Lady launched a White House initiative on women’s health research aimed at closing research gaps and improving women’s health.
North Carolina and Georgia are swing states both in play for Democrats this year. Georgia famously went blue for Biden in 2020, prompting then-President Donald Trump to challenge election results in that and many other states. He still falsely claims the election was stolen from him.
Tennessee, however, is unlikely to deliver for a Biden ticket as a deep read, Deep South state.
