Entire Alabama GOP U.S. House delegation backs Donald Trump

Every Republican member of the Alabama U.S. House of Representatives delegation is backing former President Donald Trump in his third presidential campaign, according to POLITICO.

Trump plans to unveil support Friday night at the state GOP dinner. The endorsements also include five statewide elected officials.

The endorsements come despite Trump’s third indictment, with the most recent coming just this week. News broke of the endorsements less than 24 hours after Trump was arraigned on federal charges related to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

He still faces a possible fourth indictment in Georgia over the infamous call Trump claims was “perfect” to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger asking him to “find” the votes needed to declare the Peach state a victory for Trump.

Trump is slated to speak at the Alabama Republican Party dinner in Montgomery Friday evening.

The latest slate of endorsers includes six GOP U.S. Representatives — Robert Aderholt, Jerry Carl, Barry Moore, Gary Palmer, Mike Rogers and Dale Strong — as well as U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth, Agriculture Commissioner Rick Pate and all three members of the Alabama Public Service Commission.

Trump is by far leading the endorsement race in Alabama. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has earned support from Alabama State Auditor Andrew Sorrell. Gov. Kay Ivey and U.S. Katie Britt have not yet endorsed a candidate in the GOP Presidential Primary.
