A third-party group is out with a new ad campaign supporting Jasmine Clark, a current state Representative, in her bid for Georgia’s 13th Congressional District.
The group, 314 Action Fund, is investing $300,000 into the 15-second spot through the Dr. Jasmine Clark Science Victory Fund.
Clark, a microbiologist, is running in the open seat, based in Gwinnett County and the southern portions of Clayton and Henry counties. The seat was vacated when incumbent Democrat David Scott passed away last month. She faces a competitive Primary in the Democratic-leaning district. The field includes Everton Blair, Jeff Fauntleroy, state Sen. Emanuel Jones, Heavenly Kimes and Joe Lester.
If elected, Clark would be the first female Ph.D. scientist ever elected to Congress and the first Black female Ph.D. ever elected to Congress.
The ad, titled “Truth,” highlights Clark’s commitment to lowering costs and delivering results for Georgia families.
“New, bold leadership. Dr. Jasmine Clark fights for us in Georgia, now she’s running to fight for us in Washington,” the ad begins. “Jasmine will lower costs, deliver for families. Jasmine Clark, the fighter we need.”
The ad ends with a call to vote for and support Clark.
314 Action has endorsed Clark.
“With our support, Dr. Jasmine Clark is heading towards Election Day on May 19 with the momentum to win. As a PhD microbiologist, state legislator, and a proven fighter who has spent her career standing up for science — she’s exactly the kind of leader Georgia’s 13th District needs right now,” said 314 Action Executive Director Erik Polyak.
“While Donald Trump and RFK Jr. gut health care, cherry-pick data, and put corporate interests ahead of working people, Dr. Clark has been on the frontlines — calling out misinformation, blocking extreme Republican legislation, and demanding a government that is honest with the people it serves.”
In addition to serving in the Georgia Legislature, Clark also works as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Emory University Nursing School, the same university where she earned her Ph.D. in microbiology and molecular genetics.
She flipped a Republican seat in the Georgia House in 2018 and was re-elected to the seat in 2020, 2022 and 2024, even as redistricting shifted the district twice to make it more competitive for Republicans.
Her platform includes protecting jobs, restoring research funding, improving affordability, protecting public education, lowering childcare costs, investing in apprenticeship and trade programs and more.
“Georgia families deserve a Representative who will roll up her sleeves, fight to lower costs, and deliver — and that’s exactly what Dr. Jasmine Clark will do in Congress,” Polyak added.
